Via Toon Zone comes news that Noggin and its evening version, The N, will be splitting into two separate, twenty four-hour networks on December 31.
Noggin will continue with programming aimed at the preschool set with programs like Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, Oobi, Jack's Big Music Show, and Nick Jr. properties like Dora the Explorer, Blue's Clues and The Backyardigans.
The N, originally the evening version of Noggin aimed at teens (and "tweens" to use a meaningless marketing term), will expand to 24 hours with TEENick programming during the day (All That, The Amanda Show, etc) and original programming at night: Degrassi: The Next Generation, South of Nowhere, and Beyond the Break. The N also acquired rights to air reruns of That '70s Show starting June 2008.
New series for The N include:
About A Girl: a sitcom about a female college student who moves in with some boys off campus. The series stars Chiara Zanni and premieres October 5.
Will McRobb & Chris Viscardi, creators of one of my favorite shows of all time, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, are behind Interns (working title), a new comedy that premieres sometime in August 2008. I don't watch The N, not being a teen and all, but I may have to check this one out to see if it's on par with Pete and Pete.
Two other series with working titles, Gigantic (a fictional series about the kids of famous movie stars) and Queen Bees (a reality series in which several mean girls live together) will also debut sometime in 2008.

Oh boy more "That 70's Show" I am so excited! NOT. I see it on two different local channels plus FX airs it as well. I wonder what ever happened to "That 80's Show"?
